Having successfully completed an antidumping duty or countervailing
duty administrative review before the U.S. Department of Commerce
("USDOC"), or having concluded an appeal of such a determination
to the courts or a NAFTA binational panel, companies/importers are
now looking forward to timely liquidation of their merchandise by
U.S. Customs and Border Protection ("CBP"). What steps will
the USDOC follow to ensure proper and timely liquidation? How does
CBP administer USDOC instructions? What are the pitfalls for the unwary
importer? Will failure to timely liquidate the entries result in an
adverse "deemed liquidation" finding by CBP? What steps
should the prudent importer take to minimize her risk? This hands-on
presentation, conducted by distinguished leading experts in the field
of international trade regulation, will provide attendees with a comprehensive
discussion of the impact of a USDOC antidumping order on the liquidation
of entries subject to antidumping and countervailing duties.
