I am an employee of a non-profit organization. Do I qualify for the reduced
membership dues rate allowed for government employees and students?
A. WIIT discounts
membership only for full-time local, state or federal government employees,
foreign government employees, employees of multi-lateral organizations, and
full-time students.
Q. I am interested in more than two of the interest sections listed on the
WIIT application. Should I check all of the interest sections that interest
me?
A. WIIT requests that you limit yourself to the two interest sections that appeal
most to you. This information is used to help the WIIT Board Members and Section
Chairs schedule events that are of the most interest to the greatest number
of WIIT members.
Q. May I attend WIIT events that are not within my stated interest sections?
A. Members are encouraged to attend all WIIT events. WIIT events are limited
only by space available at the scheduled location.
Q. Is the annual membership fee pro-rated if I join WIIT after the beginning
of WIIT's fiscal year (June 1)?
A. WIIT membership fees are not pro-rated for members joining at times other
than the beginning of the fiscal year. The full membership fee will be assessed
regardless of when you join. Those new members who join between January 1, 2001,
and February 28, 2001, however, will receive a complimentary WIIT luggage tag.
For members joining after May 1, the full WIIT membership fee will be assessed,
but these new members will receive a "13 Month Bonus," which allows them to
attend the WIIT Annual Dinner meeting in May at the members-only rate, and to
receive regular membership benefits through the following fiscal year (ending
May 31).
Q. I was a member of WIIT in another location. Does my WIIT membership transfer
to the Washington, DC chapter?
A. The Washington, DC Chapter of WIIT is glad to accommodate all membership
transfers. Transferring members will be required to pay the annual membership
fee when joining the Washington, DC Chapter of WIIT. WIIT membership is not
transferable. Each WIIT chapter operates independently.
Q. How can I check the status of my membership?
A. The WIIT Membership Directory is updated on a monthly basis. Please use the
passwords provided in the monthly calendar to access the Directory. If your
name appears there, you are a current member paid in full. If you do not see
your name, please forward a message to the Membership Committee by e-mail, and
we will doublecheck against the database.
Q. What are the passwords to access the WIIT Membership Directory and OWIT On-Line
Job Bank?
A. These passwords are updated on a regular basis and provided in the monthly
calendar.
