President's Letter
Angela Marshall Hofmann
WIIT President

We are off to a great start for the 2005 2006 WIIT year with a dynamic team of board members, officers and committee chairs. A hearty thank you to each of you who participated in our year beginning Retreat as well as those who joined the leadership team! Our members make the difference and look forward to growing an even more dynamic team this year.

It goes without saying that the success of WIIT depends heavily on our programs. This summer we have already seen sold out programs about the Joint Commission on China Trade (JCCT) meetings in July as well as Korea Trade developments. We will end the summer session with an ice cream social "Salute to USTR" ladies and then launch into a busy fall. In addition to timely and informative events, we look forward to a robust professional development program for members at all stages of their careers. As always, if you have ideas about topics or speakers, please let us know.

I also encourage you to join many of us in "passing the torch" by joining the mentoring program. The relationships and experiences shared are some of the most invaluable opportunities WIIT provides.

Finally, we look forward to coordinating efforts with the WIIT Trust under the new leadership of Monique Roske, and OWIT, our umbrella organization, as we network with women trade leaders throughout the world.

Thanks to everyone for their abundance of great ideas, hours of volunteer time and energy your efforts are appreciated and I am proud to be part of such a great organization.
