Summer 2005 News

WIIT Charitable Trust - Update

Aside from a recent change in leadership, this has been a relatively quiet summer for the WIIT Charitable Trust.

In June 2005, Mary Alexander stepped down and Monique Roske took over as the Chair of the WIIT Charitable Trust. Mary has led the Trust since its creation and has truly been the heart and soul of the organization. All of us at the Trust are immensely grateful for her many contributions to the Trust's success. It was her hard work and perseverance, not to mention her energy and cheerfulness that has helped the WIIT Charitable Trust grow and prosper.

Mary has agreed to serve as the current Treasurer of the WIIT Charitable Trust; she will also continue to play a significant role in our Trade Education Project.

Monique Roske currently works as an independent consultant in International Business/Government Relations. Prior to taking on the Chairmanship of the WIIT Charitable Trust, she served years ago as President of WIIT Washington D.C. and as President of the global Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT).

The Trust continues to focus on its exciting Trade Education Project. We invite all WIIT Members to visit out website at www.wiittrust.org and to join us in our efforts to achieve our challenging goals.

Please remember that the WIIT Charitable Trust Committee welcomes the talents of anyone interested in volunteering to work with us to achieve our goals of funding charitable, scientific, and educational activities in international trade. Our mission is to promote public knowledge and understanding of international trade and international business, and to strengthen the role of women therein. We will achieve this by being a valued source of information and by globally sponsoring research, educational programs, and information-sharing activities.

If you are interested, please contact Monique Roske, Chair, at monique@roske.us. We would love to see you at one of our upcoming monthly meetings!
