Annual Winter Gala and Auction

On December 2, WIIT members
and friends gathered for the 2008 Annual Gala and Silent Auction, graciously
hosted by the Embassy of Argentina. The evening provided a perfect opportunity
to mingle and celebrate the holidays, drawing a spirited crowd who enjoyed
bidding on the variety of silent auction items. Close to 50 wonderful items
were donated for the auction by the corporate and international trade community,
including theatre and sports tickets, spa certificates, fine potables, hand-made
jewelry, an iPod, and international trade publications. Distilled Spirits
Council of the U.S. (DISCUS) and Wal-Mart graciously donated the bar, which
featured fun, festive cocktails as well as wine from Argentina. Overall, the
donations help raise nearly $4,500 for the WIIT Charitable Trust, in support
of their ongoing mission of promoting public knowledge and understanding of
international trade and international business.
