Night Event

On April 26, 2006 the
Professional Development Group hosted its annual Career Night event at Manatt
Phelps & Phillips LLP. Approximately 30 leaders in international trade,
representing government agencies, corporations, trade associations, law firms,
consulting groups and trade and development organizations attended to offer
advice and share their experiences with emerging professionals in the field.
Our speakers met one-on-one with attendees to critique their resume, or to
discuss career opportunities and strategies. Attendees benefited from the
opportunity to meet with our speakers and walked away from the event with
a greater understanding of the field they were pursuing, strategies on best
ways to land a position and even some job leads! When they weren't meeting
with our attendees, our speakers were even found networking among themselves,
making it a Career Night at every level.
According to Loretta Schmitzer, VP for Professional Development of Women in International Trade, "the event brought some of the best and the brightest of the international trade world to speak with some of the most ambitious and intelligent future leaders."
