Singleton McAllister guides clients through the intersection of business and government. She helps clients from various industry sectors, including international trade, transportation, energy and healthcare navigate federal contracts, regulatory work and government affairs. Among her many awards, she was recognized by Women Inc. as one of the “Most Influential Women Corporate Board Directors” and as one of the top 100 Directors by the National Association of Corporate Directors. She also serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of the National Women History Museum and Co-Chair of the Corporate Diversity Navigators program for the Executive Leadership Council. Singleton has a long history of serving on corporate and non-profit boards. She will discuss the introduction to board service and the evolving and dynamic corporate governance landscape.

Ms. McAllister is an experienced sitting corporate director. In 2017, Singleton was voted onto the proxy board of Securitas Critical Infrastructure Services, Inc., the largest protective security company in the world. She served as the lead director on the board of Anterix and is a member of the Board of Directors for Chart Industries. She served on the Board of Directors for United Rentals for 14 years in the leadership positions including Chair of its Compensation Committee, and on the Board of Alliant Energy the largest service provider in Wisconsin and Iowa. There she served as Chair of its Compensation Committee and on its Nomination and Governance Committee.
Ms. McAllister is also an attorney with Husch Blackwell LLP and a member of the firm’s Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation section and a leader in government affairs and regulatory law for over 30 years, having held several senior positions at the national level. Notably, she was senior counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Budget. She was appointed by then President, Bill Clinton as the General Counsel to the U.S. Agency for International Development, as chief legal advisor to 72 U.S. missions around the world. She represents companies and trade associations throughout a wide range of industries in public and regulatory matters related to international trade, transportation, energy, education and healthcare, develops and manages crisis-management campaigns, trade compliance and corporate guidance.

Evelyn Suarez founded The Suarez Firm in 2014 to offer more personalized services to corporate clients on customs and international trade law and policy matters. She assists clients with matters ranging from crisis management to strategic development. She routinely serves businesses in the crosshairs of a complex world shaped by ever-changing geo-political events.
Her legal career began as a government lawyer at the U.S. International Trade Commission and at U.S. Customs. After her government service, she was a partner at various large law firms, resident in Washington, D.C. Evelyn is a thought leader who volunteers her time as an Advisor to both George Washington Univ. and Georgetown Univ. Law Center on matters concerning international business and law.
