The upcoming panel discussion, titled "The Future of U.S.-Japan Economic Cooperation: Advancing Strategic Supply Chain and Partnerships on Technology and Energy," will highlight collaborative efforts in economic security, exploring opportunities to strengthen both supply chain collaborations and technological and energy partnerships. The discussion will examine U.S.-Japan initiatives that aim to harness new green technology and bolster resilience to counter environmental and economic challenges. These efforts will underscore the enduring strength of U.S.-Japan economic ties and ability to adapt to evolving global conditions.

The event is part of the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI)-led Japan’s Emerging Female Leaders (EFL) program, under the rubric of ASPI’s broader initiative, “Building Trade Ties with Asia’s Emerging Female Leaders.” The year 2024 marks the program’s first in-person implementation, further adding to its significance. Selected Japanese female professionals, who are rising in the field of trade, business, and public policy, will embark on a journey to the U.S., engaging in briefings, workshops, and networking events for a week. The EFL program aims to deepen their understanding of how U.S. trade and economic policies are developed, discuss challenges associated with economic security matters, enhance their negotiation skills, and advance their careers.
