The event will feature insights and perspectives from leading industry practitioners Orisia Gammell, Chief Legal Counsel & Head of Export Controls Innovation Team at SAP, Karen Bruntrager, Lead Counsel – Regulatory Affairs at FedEx Corporation, and Kirsten Keefe, Assistant General Counsel – Regulatory Affairs at Cummins Inc. The panel discussion will be moderated by Tahlia Townsend, co-chair of the International Trade Compliance practice at Wiggin & Dana LLP. A short Q&A session will follow the moderated discussion. Bios:
Orisia Gammell is chief legal counsel, U.S. export control and head of the export control innovation team at SAP. As the head of the export control innovation team, Ms. Gammell manages a team of export compliance professionals tasked with developing and implementing solutions for managing SAP’s global export control and sanctions compliance program, including implementation of new legal requirements, enhancement of IT solutions and integration of new acquisitions. As chief legal counsel, Ms. Gammell also serves as a legal advisor and subject matter expert on U.S. export control and sanctions laws applicable to SAP activities worldwide. Prior to joining SAP, Ms. Gammell was in private practice, focusing on a wide array of international trade matters.
Karen C. Bruntrager is Lead Counsel in the Regulatory Affairs department at FedEx Corporation. In this role she advises US and international management, sales and operations on compliance with US export controls and sanctions. She is currently leading a multi-year strategic plan for the FedEx Express export compliance program including enhancements to automated compliance tools, policies, procedures, training, audits and metrics. She also oversees in-house investigations related to export compliance and represents FedEx in government forums and trade associations. Prior to joining FedEx, Ms. Bruntrager developed and managed the corporate compliance programs for Verisign Inc. and the United States Pharmacopeia.
