Having a wide range of diverse voices in the international trade world fosters innovation and creativity, leading to more effective and inclusive policies that cater to the needs of various communities. The Association of Women in International Trade (WIIT) – in partnership with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee of the Customs and International Trade Bar Association (CITBA) – invite you to join us for a panel discussion with a range of experts on how their respective organizations are promoting diversity and inclusion, and individuals who are engaged in international trade. International trade-related jobs often pay more than non-trade related jobs, and firms that engage in international trade are often more profitable, innovative, and competitive than firms that do not. The field of international trade offers a wide variety of career opportunities for practitioners, policy makers, lawyers, and facilitators. Encouraging more diverse individuals and firms to participate in the international trade field makes our country more globally competitive and promotes fair and equitable trade practices on a global scale.
Panelists:
- Rahama Wright, CEO, Yeleen Enterprises; Co-Chair, President’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa
- Evelyn Barahona, Senior VP, Educational Fund, U.S.-Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
- Karen Burress, Office of the Deputy Director General, U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service; Chair, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council (DIAC), International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce
