The historic purview of multilateral institutions is blurring. The WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies includes provisions on environmental sustainability. The WTO is working with the World Bank and International Monetary Fund on a potential global carbon pricing mechanism. COP28 included the first ever WTO-led “Trade Day”, the United Nations is negotiating Pandemic and Plastics Treaties that have trade elements, and the World Health Organization is advocating for additional taxes on products like tobacco, alcohol and sugar-sweetened beverages. Come hear from our esteemed panelists about what’s driving this trend, what might be next, and how stakeholders can stay engaged and abreast of developments across the various forums. This discussion will be off the record.

Doors open at noon; lunch will be provided.
