Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Program Section will examine the impacts of global trade on specific, often vulnerable, communities including women, minorities, and micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises. Trade issues such as climate, data governance, trade facilitation, technology, and innovation all have a role to play in reducing poverty and driving sustainable, inclusive growth – ensuring that all would-be traders can participate in the global trade arena. Events offered by this program section will focus on:
- Ways in which trade can be rendered more inclusive;
- Mechanisms that ensure that the benefits of trade agreements and market access can be enjoyed by all;
- Programs underway through various multilateral institutions, governments, and corporations to help link underserved traders to the global marketplace.
