CONGRATULATIONS to Chie Okugami and Paramintha – our amazing scholarship winners for Spring.
Chie Okugami is a Master of International Affairs candidate at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, concentrating in International Finance and Economic Policy with a specialization in Data Analytics and Quantitative Analysis.Prior to Columbia, she worked in Tokyo as an investment banker at Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley, advising on cross-border M&A and global financing across various sectors. She later joined Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she focused on African affairs and international economic diplomacy. At Columbia, she serves as a Research Assistant for the Initiative on Central Banking and Financial Policy, where she contributes to research on central bank regulation and monetary policy, and engages in rigorous analysis of the interplay between policy, the economy, and financial markets.

Paramitha is a Master of International Affairs candidate at Columbia University, concentrating on International Economic Policy with a specialization in Data Analytics and Quantitative Analysis. She is currently on study leave from her role as a trade negotiator at the Ministry of Trade of Indonesia, and has more than 10 years working experience in both public and private sectors in international trade. Paramitha is passionate in shaping inclusive trade policies that empower developing economies, with growing interest in supply chain resilience and digital economy, priority areas that are highly important for Indonesia’s development. She is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the WIIT community and looks forward to engaging and learning with others to promote trade and support women in trade. Read Paramitha's Essay HERE.
